The MSR® Lightning™ models are made from a high-strength, torsion-resistant yet lightweight,
aircraft-grade aluminium alloy. The 360° Traction™ frame, with its unique low-profile and
serrations on the underside, provides an all-around firm grip, especially when traversing icy
places. Narrow frames of the W-models improve agility for those with a narrow gait, and are ideal for anyone
seeking a lighter snowshoe. In very loose snow or when carrying a heavy backpack, the
Modular Flotation extension elements (optional) can be used to increase the surface area and create
additional
flotation. The exceptionally strong coated nylon fabric is particularly durable and provides
a pleasant, soft footstep. The Explore variants are now equipped with the newly designed
HyperLink™ ratchet binding. It is quick and easy to use and can be
precise adjusted, even with gloves. The lateral alignment provides a good stability, especially when
traversing. The very convenient EVA foam padding ensures exceptional comfort, even on long tours. For
the Ergo™ Televator heel lift provides relief on steep climbs.
